Université Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay) is located south of Paris, at the heart of the Paris-Saclay cluster of research and innovation. Bringing together 14 institutions of higher education and research, it could be said that its history dates back to the end of the 2nd World War, with the establishment on the Saclay plateau of the French National Centre for Scientific Research, or CNRS. Many more key national research institutions were to follow and, with them, higher education institutions. Today, Université Paris-Saclay has 65,000 students, 9,000 in Master’s and 4,500 in PhD, represents 13% of French research, and hosts 9,000 researchers and professors, who benefit from first-class research platforms.
A founding member of Université Paris-Saclay, CentraleSupélec has greatly contributed to the definition of the “Saclay Campus” project and its branding as an Initiative of Excellence (IdEx), contributing to the stature of Université Paris-Saclay, and becoming its School of Engineering. This provides a unique opportunity for CentraleSupélec to access a scientific environment of international standing, along with exceptional worldwide visibility and positioning.
CentraleSupélec has 4,300 students, of whom 3,200 are engineering students, 30% are international students, 600 PhD candidates, 17 research departments or teams, 176 partner universities in 45 countries, 140 corporate partners and 35,500 alumni working in all economic sectors worldwide.
The central theme of the CAM 2019 is ‘Novel approaches in S&T education and training tackling the challenges of the 21st Century’.
Offering an attractive mix of meetings, parallel workshops and plenary sessions, CAM 2019 will not only provide useful information, reflection and analysis, but also ample opportunities for discussion, peer learning and networking:
– half-day workshops (morning and afternoon) followed by an informal networking reception;
– an international study fair enhancing mobility of students and staff between CESAER’s Members and beyond;
– a high-level conference on ‘Novel approaches in S&T education and training tackling the challenges of the 21st Century’ with dedicated breakout sessions for the Members of CESAER and the T.I.M.E. Association;
– a science and engineering related social programme.
The international study fair will bring together higher education institutions from CESAER and the T.I.M.E. Association.
The fair has two aims:
